Polish Party - Splatter Nails

So its that time again! Polish party! And this months theme as voted for in a poll came out as splatter nails!

I have done this method before but I can't find a picture of the nails to show how badly it went the first time!

This is the look I created and I am pretty happy with how it turned out although I think I could have chosen a better colour palette but I like it personally! Keep reading to find out how I created this look!

This is so simple to create and you only need a few tools!

Grab your :
- selection of polishes
- pva glue/ scotch tape
- base colour
- same number of straws as polishes used
- quick dry top coat
- acetone and flat ended brush

I chose to cover the edges of my nails in PVA glue to make it a lot easier for me to clean up after I have finished creating my look.

Simply paint around your nails to look like the picture below and leave until the glue totally dries and is clear in colour.

You can also just surround the edges of your nails in scotch tape.

Paint your base coat and base colour and leave until totally dry or top with quick dry top coat.

Open your first splatter colour and insert a straw until it just touches the polish in the bottle and simply blow hard out the straw and the polish will be projected onto your nails.

Do the same for all of your polishes, using a different straw for each polish and then top with quick dry topcoat as there will be large blobs of polish that will smudge if you leave them.

Peel off your PVA around your nails and clean up the rest of the left over polish around the fingers with the acetone and a flat ended brush.

Then you are done! I chose to top my mani in my favourite top coat from Rimmel in Ultra Shine!

To create this look I used Essie - Bikini So Teeny, Models Own - Beach Bag, Essie - In Stitches and a Maxfactor polish in deep purple but the name has rubbed off.

I really love the added pop of neon from the Models Own Beach Bag, I think it gives it a really different feel.

So what do you think? Have you tried this before? Comment below

Check out everyone else's designs directly below, they are all great artists and deserve some comment love.

Peace.
