Rimmel Velvet Matte Swatch

Hey guys! So today I have a single swatch for you because I simply couldn't afford the whole collection, but when I walked into boots and saw these sitting on the shelf I couldn't leave without at least one!

So this is a polish from the new Rimmel London Velvet Matte collection! I chose the colour 014 Sumptuous Red, which I can't say is very red to me but hey ho! This is a beautiful deep purple colour that is perfect for the autumn!

This swatch is two coats and no topcoat and I love the final look, but I would say that I think they would look even better with a third coat!

The formula is kind of strange and a bit streaky but if you are careful with application it can look great. When I use this polish again I will definitely use a ridge filling base coat though because it is a polish that highlights any lines on the nail. Excluding that it is a great polish and for £4.99 you can't really go wrong!

I don't know when these polishes are being released officially because I can't even find them on the Rimmel website, but I got mine in a Boots store UK and there were 4 polishes in the collection!

After wearing this polish for 3 days with no chips and still no topcoat I decided that I wanted to add some nail art so I went for a leopard print gradient type thing. I kind of just made it up as I started… And for this I used a Barry M Matte White and the Rimmel Matte Topcoat!

I love how these turned out and will be rocking these for a few more days!

Hope you liked this post!

Peace

Oh and don't forget about my Beauty Bundle Competition worth nearly £80 which you can enter here!

  1. Ooh the leopard print looks so great! I've seen these matte Rimmels in my polish store a few weeks ago but wasn't sure how they would look on the nail because I hadn't seen swatches yet. This one definitely stood out for me in the bottle though and it looks great on you! :)
